WE Family Offices Recognized in Financial Advisor Magazine’s 2021 RIA Ranking

We are pleased to announce that WE Family Offices has been named among Financial Advisor Magazine’s Top Registered Investment Advisors of 2021. The ranking, published each year, highlights a number of factors among independent advisory firms in the U.S. The factors upon which the ranking is based include assets under management, fee structure, number of client families, assets per client, among others.
Out of the 607 firms recognized on this year’s list, WE is one out of only five firms nationally that exclusively serves ultra high net worth families, each having an average assets per client of more than $100 million. WE ranked #3 in this unique group of firms.
On average among the firms included in the list, assets per client are under $6M per client. Given the unique needs of ultra high net worth families – most likely their wealth will outlive the current generation and managing wealth sustainably is typically a multi-generational endeavor – serving ultra high net worth families requires a different business model and unique resources.
WE has built a unique business model, over 20 years, that enables us to serves families as an outsourced family office, as an extention of their existing family office or by managing special projects/mandates for families. This service model creates a fully custom experience by deploying the resources and support that a family needs, in a way that benefits them the most.
WE adheres to three core principles in advising UHNW families:
- We manage assets on a non-discretionary basis. This puts the family in control and connected to their wealth in a way that keeps them informed, empowered and confident to make critical decisions about their financial lives.
- We favor a flat fee, retainer compensation structure, not a percentage of assets under advisement. This creates a more close alignment of interests, and removes potential conflict that could arise from an AUM based fee.
- We help families view and manage their family wealth as they would a successful business. In doing so, we help them build and manage wealth enterprises, increasing the odds of successful generational wealth transfer.

For firms to be eligible for Financial Advisor Magazine’s annual RIA ranking, they must be independent Registered Investment Advisors, file their own ADV statement with the SEC and provide financial planning and related services to individual clients.
