We are pleased to announce that WE Family Offices Partner Richard Zimmerman has been awarded the certification of completion from the Climate Change and Investment Academy.
In a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Alliance Bernstein and climate experts at Columbia’s Earth Institute, the Climate Change and Investment Academy integrates scientific and academic analysis of how climate change can affect investment risks and opportunities from macroeconomic to issuer levels.
Through this extensive curriculum, Zimmerman further expanded his environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) and impact investing expertise over six weeks by learning about the evolving relationship between the basic research enterprise that produces climate system knowledge and the needs of the private sector. He also became better acquainted with the risks and opportunities arising from the earth’s climate system as well as the social, political and economic responses to climate impacts.
Zimmerman plans to utilize this gained knowledge to better assess the increasing complexities within climate change, engage more effectively with companies and help build more sustainable portfolios for family offices.
