WE’s Michael Zeuner Quoted in Huffington Post Business on the Fiduciary Standard

In a recent article published by Huffington Post Business, WE Family Office’s managing partner, Michael Zeuner, is quoted amongst industry experts on the Department of Labor’s initiative to require a fiduciary standard for broker-dealers who provide retirement advice. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, which began the fiduciary standard on the investment advisory industry.

The article explores the impact the fiduciary standard has had on the culture of advisors, by requiring a conflict-free approach to advice and services given. Under the Department of Labor proposal, broker-dealers giving advice on retirement accounts would have to offer impartial advice, put their clients’ needs first, and could not accept payments that created conflicts of interest. “A true fiduciary advisor seeks to avoid conflicts first and foremost,” states Michael Zeuner.
